The WAILERS really wailed!

That fabulous young band from Toronto that's turning heads wherever they go these days showed why with a dynamite performance at BLUES ON THE RIDEAU at THE COVE INN, Westport last Friday, November 15th. This band is HOT! They just received 3 nominations for Maple Blues Awards this year (Entertainers & Electric Act of the Year plus sax player Jon Wong is up again for Horn Player of the Year) and are about to head down to Austin, Texas to record a new album with Jimmie Vaughan's bass player, Billy Horton.

We got to hear a lot of the new songs that night and they're great! I predict it will be their best album yet. Watch for it. Coming soon.

Instead of me telling you how good this band is here's what some of those attending the Show that night had to say:

"What a great band! The 24th Street Wailers combine youthful enthusiasm with off the wall energy and a nice respect for traditional Blues in their music. They rock!" Dick & Marg Christy, Elgin (They've attended just about every BOTR show at The Cove over the past 9 seasons)

"For such a young band The 24th Street Wailers have got a great feel for the Blues and their showmanship was amazing. They had the crowd hip-hopping from the get go. I haven't heard cheers like that for an encore for some time!"
Ian Jackson, Westport (another BOTR regular)

“Thanks for the wonderful night. The food was excellent, the staff friendly and the music was great. We love The 24th Street Wailers. They’ve played Irene’s several times. As huge music fans we’re always interested in seeing how other venues present LIVE music and you guys do a great job with Blues On The Rideau. We look forward to a return visit soon".
Alex & Kara-Lee Golota, Owners, Irene’s Pub, Ottawa

"This is a better Blues experience than going to Festivals. 10 out of 10 for everything - the venue, food, service, band and sound" Steven Burchill, Westport
$576 was raised for the Westport Food Bank
